NERO will launch its mainnet as a modular blockchain in late October 2024. Prior to the mainnet launch, a testnet was made available in late March 2024, allowing users to experience the Account Abstraction functionality. As of July 2024, over 68,200 wallet addresses have participated.
Account Abstraction is a concept designed to significantly enhance the functionality and flexibility of accounts (wallets) on the blockchain. With Account Abstraction, users can access blockchain services using their existing accounts, such as Google or Facebook, allowing them to avoid the complexities of traditional private key management.
Additionally, in late October, the Paymaster feature developed within NERO’s AA platform will be rolled out, enabling users to customize their gas fee payment methods. For instance, users will be able to pay gas fees with tokens other than the chain’s native token.
